Volcano Realtime Liquid Simulation

Software: Unreal Engine 4, Gaea, 3DS Max, PhoenixFD

A personal project where I was interested in seeing how an imported mesh animation would perform within Unreal Engine 4 with raytracing.  I modelled/textured all of the hard surfaces, populated the scene with entourage, rigged the lighting/camera, and produced the cinematic sequence. The volcano eruption was modelled and simulated within PhoenixFD and imported into UE4 as an alembic animation. The terrain was created using GIS data/heightmap of Mount Ngauruhoe imported into Gaea and then exported as splat maps for use within UE4.
